All-purpose Cleaners

After 6 months of making my own cleaners, here are my favorites.

Disinfectant (good for kitchen and bathroom surfaces)
1 tsp borax
2 tbsp vinegar
1/4 tsp mild liquid soap
2 cups very hot water

Mix well and pour into spray bottle.

Grease cutter (good for stove tops and inside microwaves)
1/2 tsp washing soda
2 tbsp vinegar
1/4 tsp mild liquid soap
2 cups very hot water

Mix well and pour into spray bottle.

Tub and shower
1/2 cup mild liquid soap
1 tsp borax
2 tsp baking soda
1 3/4 cups very hot water

Mix well and pour into spray bottle. Use with scrub brush or rag.

Glass Cleaner (wipe off with newspaper for an extra shine)
1/2 cup isopropyl alcohol
1/2 cup vinegar
2 tsp mild liquid soap
6 cups warm water

Mix in large plastic bottle. Pour into spray bottle.

Floor Cleaner
1/8 cup mild liquid soap
1/2 cup vinegar
2 gallons hot water

Mix and pour into a bucket with lid. I drop in washable cloths that are cut to the size of our Swiffer. Use to mop floor and throw into washer.

Dust Polish (use this to dust and polish your wood furniture)
1/2 tsp olive oil
1/4 cup vinegar or lemon juice

Mix in bowl. Dip soft cotton rag in solution and rub onto furniture.

Screen Cleaner (this works great for flat screen computer monitors or tvs)
1/2 cup isopropyl alcohol
1/2 cup water
1 tbsp baking soda

Mix well. Dip lint-free cloth into cleaner and rub onto screen. Wipe with dry side of cloth until all evaporated.

Happy Cleaning!
