Bringing Home The Bacon

What’s better than bacon? Before today my answer would have been, “NOTHING!” Now it’s, “bacon from your very own pig!”

Last night we brought home our half of our pig: That means roasts, ham, chops, ribs, sausage, and BACON!

It has to also share space with our crab, chicken, jams, produce and a HUGE bag full of FAT.

This morning for breakfast we cooked up a package of bacon. It is so thick and tasty! I wonder how long it will last???

Next is rendering lard… LOTS of LOTS of lard!!!
